Mohenjo-daro was one of the largest cities of the Indus Valley Civilization, built around 2500 BC with straight streets, brick houses, covered drains and the famous Great Bath. It was rediscovered in the 1920s and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The site museum shows what the excavations found: seals carved with animals and a script no one has yet deciphered, toys, weights, beads and pottery. Many of the best-known finds are now in Karachi and New Delhi, but nothing replaces walking the city itself.
