Opened in 2009 at the foot of the Acropolis, the museum holds the sculptures and objects found on the sacred rock. Glass floors let visitors look down onto the ruins of an ancient Athenian neighbourhood beneath it.
The top floor recreates the frieze of the Parthenon at its real size and angle, with the temple itself visible through the windows. Spaces are left for the pieces still in London.
