Allama Muhammad Iqbal built Javed Manzil and named it after his son Javed. He lived here from 1935 until his death on 21 April 1938. The government later bought the house and turned it into a museum.
The rooms keep his furniture, clothes, books, letters and manuscripts, along with photographs and awards. It is a quiet, personal place to meet the poet behind the idea of Pakistan.
