The story

Opened in 2017 under an agreement with France, Louvre Abu Dhabi was designed by Jean Nouvel. Its great dome of layered stars lets sunlight fall through in a "rain of light" onto a little city of galleries by the sea.

Instead of separating cultures, its galleries show objects from different civilizations side by side, telling one story of humanity from the first villages to today.
